This elongated free thrown piece is indeed a vibrant maroon color having a wrapped edge with a second trailing bead of glass irregularly molded about the outside. | 620 | COIN SILVER: A circa 1830's American Coin* .900 silver water Ewer by William Gale and Joseph Moseley, 1828 - 1833, New York, New York. The ovoid body being hand hammered and having hand railed applied design consisting of scroll floral decoration with a waisted stem above a dome-like pedestal foot. The neck features a short shank with a shaped pour spout partially covered ice control on the pourer. The hinged lid crowned with a simulated sovereigns headpiece, overlaid with floral sways and containing a finely impressed floral and fruit finial. The Ewer is inscribed with the following: "Presented by the Board of Health of the City of New York TO Julius C. Wright M.D. for profefsional (sic) services gratuitously rendered to the poor of the Second Ward during the prevalence of the Cholera. A.D. 1832." The Ewer has been professional restored, cleaned and polished. There are no noticeable dents, scratches. The condition would be deemed very fine. 174.7 Grams or 56.20 Troy oz. |

| 622 | MUSIC BOX: Music Box, unattributed, cylinder 6", 8-Tunes or Airs, "Carlotta Waltz, Full Moon Union, and others", hand written tune label, inlaid floral design on the top, faux grain painting on the sides, nice sound, side crank inside box, 13 ¬" L x 6 «" D x 5 ¬" H. The instrument has a inside crank and plays but needs tuning and cleaning and related restoration. Note: The lid hinge is in place but the backboard is cracked near the top and the hinge is not affixed. The paper label is torn with some of the pieces rescued and put into an envelope that goes with the box, multiple scratch marks. |
| 623 | STERLING: A PAUL STORR George IV Tea Pot, Creamer and Sugar Bowl, English 1823 - 1824 It is a rare opportunity and a privilege that Pacific Galleries has been chosen to offer this magnificent tea service made during the height of the life of this master silversmith. The service is classic Paul Storr. A melon-shaped tea pot comprised of ornate peony-form chasing, just superb, scrolling foliate adorned silver handle with separate ivory insulators, architectural rimmed foot and hinged lid (7"H x 10.5"W), one open sugar bowl with double scrolling silver handles, matching peony exterior and architectural rimmed foot (5" x 7"), and one open cream pitcher with peony chasing, single foliate handles rimmed foot (4" x 6"). This service executed at the turn of the 19th (1823-1824), just three years after George IV, known for his extravagance and love of the rococo, became England's monarch. MAKER: Paul Storr 1771 - 1844, he retired in 1838 and was known as an artist, sculptor, gold and master silversmith. He is linked in quality with the likes of Paul Lamerie. It is for certain few have matched his quality of workmanship. This piece was completed at the height of career when in association with John Mortimer, a firm which has carried on to the present-time in London under the name of Hunt and Roskell. CONDITION: There are no repairs noted on this Tea set. The lid of the teapot is hallmarked as well as the teapot sugar and creamer "PS". There are no dings or dents. The teapot handle has two pins holding it place with the insulator; one pin is loose but present and original. | 624 | BRONZE COFFER: An ornate cast bronze, oak, and leather coffer or possibly a reliquary. The piece is ovoid in shape with an oak interior shell. The exterior is composed of decorative bronze panels placed over a thin layer of padded leather featuring stylized deer and bird medallions and reticulated sections. The ends are capped with cast panther and bird sculptural relief pieces. The domed lid opens to reveal a padded blue silk lined interior smelling heavily of ecclesiastical incense (Frankincense and Myrrh), measures 16"L x 8"H x 6"W, some condition issues noted: leather cracking with some pieces missing, two top leather panels appear to have been replaced, one bronze foot replaced, weld points loose on one panther attachment and has been re-screwed into place, tearing to blue silk lining, unattributed, appears to have some age. |
| 625 | PORCELAIN: A very nice pair of porcelain candelabras, two parts consisting of the upper portion which has four candleholders 7¬" H, excluding pin, the 5-footed lower part is 14" H. The shape is that of a stylized tree against which rest two, one male and one female putto's. The female is holding a gold colored symbol like instrument. Surrounding the base and extending overall highlighting the gold embossed curves and flourishes. On the limbs of the candleholders, and a portion of the stem and at the base feature an array of flower tributes. The porting holding each pin upon which the top is placed has been unprofessionally glued into the top of the base. The candlesticks are not hallmarked but given the fineness of the porcelain and the coloring of the flowers, it is attributed to Dresden East Germany and made sometime post WWII. Over all height is 21". Some minor chipping on the floral portions. |

The service is classic Paul Storr. A pear-shaped hot water kettle 12.5" high by 12" wide to the spout. The kettle has incredible chase work with a trailing garden of flowers and foliage above a scroll shaped silver handle having contemporary arms reading at the base, "GLORIA PAX MENTIS HONESTAE", literally meaning "FAME, PEACE, MIND RESPECTFUL", flower and foliate finial, the circular lamp stand in a sinuous swirl lobed and fluted, partially pierced with formal foliage finial partially pieced with formal foliage, detachable lamp with cotton wick still in place. This service executed at the turn of the 19th (1828-29), just nine years before he retired and eight years after George IV, known for his extravagance and love of the rococo, became England's monarch. A Dutch native, Krieghoff emigrated to America in 1936, eventually settling in Quebec where he focused on genre paintings of the local Canadian people. Leopard's head crown, the date "R" which translates in style to 1792 -1793 and contains the apparent initials "PB" which could lead one to attribute this piece to Peter Bateman.
